Admissions
NeuroDev offers rolling enrollment, so students can apply anytime.
The first step is to contact us to set up an introductory video call. If it seems like we could be a good fit, we’ll invite the student to an in-depth video interview with one of our Directors of Student Development. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how NeuroDev can be a support.
If the interview goes well and a student’s interest is sparked, we’d love to invite the student and their parents to visit one of our campuses in person. You’ll get to experience the NeuroDev atmosphere firsthand, meet some of the mentors, and connect with current students.
When we all agree that NeuroDev is the right fit, we welcome students on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we’ve determined a start date together, you’ll receive a welcome letter packed with everything you need to get started. This includes the enrollment application, packing list, and helpful information for parents on how to access resources in the NDM Circle.

A few things we’ve noticed about our daughter since she’s been at NeuroDev. She told us she’s excited about her future and has more hope. She recently took responsibility and the initiative to try to clear up a financial issue, while in the past she would have tried to cover it up, avoid the subject, or lie. She expresses more happiness than she has in a long time.
CAROL, NEURODEV PARENTWords cannot adequately describe the amazing development we have observed in the time our son has been a part of the NeuroDev community. He is highly enthused, more confident in himself, enjoying his experiences living in his apartment with his roommates, energized in his learning experiences, and truly owning his life and self-development. Our son loves NeuroDev and loves each and every one of the mentors, for providing him with an environment where he can flourish. As his parents, we could not be more grateful to all of the mentors for having the confidence, love for, and belief in our son. We thank God each and every day for NeuroDev.
BRYAN, NEURODEV PARENTIt’s hard to find the words to express the depths of our gratitude to NeuroDev. Everyone we have worked with there has a rare combination: both of emotional/psychological intelligence AND compassion. Practically without fail, they somehow know just what to do, and the right spirit (alternately firm and soft) with which to do it. On several occasions, we’ve seen Jason ease our son onto the right track by the mere act of talking with him (adult to young adult) in his office! As a result, he has matured a lot at NeuroDev, and the two of us have become more skilled and confident parents. It’s been a kind of reboot for our entire family.
CATHY, NEURODEV PARENTWhen my son arrived at NeuroDev, he lacked confidence, he lacked independence skills, he was generally unhappy, and he didn’t see a future or purpose in his life. During his time at NeuroDev, he has gained so much. I could probably fill a book on this subject. But the most important things that I see are his accomplishments in all of these areas, especially with his independence skills and in his increased confidence level. He would not have achieved any of it without NeuroDev. It’s made such a difference in my son’s life (and mine) and in his future. And for all of this, I am eternally grateful.
CHUCK, NEURODEV PARENTIt’s difficult to put into words what a difference NeuroDev has made in our son’s life. Coming to NeuroDev was probably the biggest challenge our son has ever faced. Our son suffers from crippling anxiety. So much so that he is often paralyzed with fear and not able to live up to his potential. In the past years it’s been very hard to watch his world grow smaller and smaller because of his self-limiting anxious and fearful thoughts. The fact that our son has been able to attend NeuroDev and, with all of their support, been successful, has changed the trajectory of his life forever. We see a newfound pride in himself, an elevated mood and newfound positivity about life in general. NeuroDev has opened up his tiny world to new possibilities and new hope for what his life and future can look like. I know how difficult and frustrating it can be to work with our son and his deeply embedded anxiety, and I want to thank the mentors at NeuroDev from the bottom of our hearts for all the patience and kindness they’ve shown him. They’ve truly changed his life for the better and we couldn’t be more grateful to NeuroDev.
MARGARETT, NEURODEV PARENTWe cannot thank NeuroDev enough for all the help and support you have given to our son. It was an absolute joy to be with him last week and watch him feel proud of his accomplishment of graduating from Dixie Tech. It also meant so much to have the show of force of you guys being there. He was as proud as we have ever seen him! We know his journey will be a rocky one, many ups and downs, but he has evolved incredibly thanks to NeuroDev. You have created a place where these young adults can find successes amid all of their challenges. Thank you for taking care of our son and continuing to grow NeuroDev, so others can feel the support and love.

FAQ
Yes, we welcome students of all genders and identities, including LGBTQIA+.
We currently have up to 40 students across our two campuses.
Average enrollment at NeuroDev is 12 months. However, the length of time can vary based on individual needs.
The day starts at 8:30 am with “Connect,” a time for everyone to come together and kick off the day. The rest of the morning is dedicated to physical wellness at the gym and a life skills class. Lunch, prepared by mentors, is served at 11:30 am.
From 12:30-3:30 pm is flex time, providing an opportunity for individualized mentoring tailored to each student’s needs. During this time, students might work on tech certifications, focus on college coursework, or receive coaching in other areas.
After 3:30 pm, the remainder of the evening is free time. Mentors work with students to plan fun and engaging experiences for the evenings. The NeuroDev common space closes at 10 pm during the week and 12 am on weekends.
NeuroDev follows a typical college schedule, including regular breaks throughout the year (fall, winter, spring, and early and late summer breaks). During breaks, students can choose to go home, have family visit, or stay on campus. Mentors are always available and plan experiences for students who remain on campus during these times.
At NeuroDev, we foster a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and respected. While we have clear expectations for behavior, our focus is on positive reinforcement and skill development rather than rigid rules.
Here are some of our key community guidelines:
- Respect for Self and Others: We value kindness, empathy, and understanding in all interactions.
- Active Participation: We encourage students to engage fully in the NeuroDev experience, including attending scheduled activities and classes.
- Technology Use: To promote social connection and well-being, we ask students to use technology primarily in designated areas on campus, and not in dorm rooms (except for smartphones).
- Substance-Free Living: We maintain a substance-free environment to support students’ health and focus.
We understand that each student is unique, and we work collaboratively with individuals to address any challenges that may arise. Our goal is to create a positive and empowering community where everyone can thrive.
Students share rooms with a roommate to practice valuable social skills.
While personal pets aren’t allowed, students may take turns caring for NeuroDev’s emotional support dog.
Mentors don’t always live on-site, but Directors of Student Development are on call 24/7 for emergencies.

NeuroDev’s global tuition does not cover:

While medical expenses are not included and we don’t accept insurance, we do help students find and access suitable medical and psychological services through trusted providers we work with closely.
Additionally, all students need to come with a good laptop and a smartphone that is paid off to be added to our phone plan.
Yes, students are encouraged to self-manage their medications. This is an important life skill, and our mentors are here to provide support and guidance as needed.
We understand that executive functioning challenges can sometimes make medication management difficult. In those cases, we offer additional assistance to help students develop effective strategies.
Many students have difficulties with screen time/gaming overuse. We focus on building a sense of belonging and providing mentoring support, which often naturally reduces screen dependency. To discourage isolation, we don’t allow computers, Wi-Fi, or TVs in student housing. These are available on our campuses, where students are encouraged to gather.
Many students transition to our independent housing when they’re successfully managing college, tech school, and/or a job while still benefiting from mentoring. Others may move back home or feel prepared to live independently.
If a student struggles to get up, we work closely with them to understand the root cause and find solutions. This might involve temporarily pausing their phone service if it’s a distraction at night.
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and locations across the country.
We don’t endorse any religion but support each student’s individual beliefs.
Generally cars make great vehicles for developing independence. In some cases, they can be used to stay stuck and escape experiences of developmental growth. Students should discuss bringing a car with a campus Executive Director. NeuroDev provides transportation for activities and errands.
We don’t accept students who are unwilling to participate in mentoring, have severe intellectual disabilities, or aren’t ready for a supported college-living experience. Safety is paramount, so we don’t accept students who are violent, sexually inappropriate, actively using illegal drugs, or pose a threat to others.
We encourage healthy independence while recognizing the importance of family involvement. We hold bi-weekly calls with parents/supporters, send monthly newsletters with updates and photos, and offer access to a dedicated online platform NDM Circle (included in the global tuition) for parents and grandparents of NeuroDev students. We keep the lines of communication open for crises or other needs.
NDM Circle: An online platform with parent coaching, education, live events, and community support, hosted by Jason & Debbie Grygla.
Autism & Neurodiversity Podcast with Jason & Debbie: Over 100 episodes of education, experience, and expertise
For some students, transitioning back home after completing the NeuroDev program is the best path forward. We collaborate with these students and their families to craft a personalized transition plan that anticipates their needs.
For most NeuroDev students, continued support after graduation is key to a successful transition. Students who are successfully attending college and/or maintaining employment are often strong candidates for our Independent Living Support program. This program serves as a bridge between the structured NeuroDev environment and full independence, offering:
- Continued Support: Ongoing, personalized mentoring to navigate the complexities of independent living.
- Skill Development: A supportive environment to practice and refine independent living skills, with guidance and resources readily available.
- Community Connection: Continued camaraderie with peers, easing the transition and providing valuable social support.
- Affordable Living: Housing and basic food included in the monthly tuition, tailored to individual needs and typically around $2,500 per month for six to 18 months on average.
